Managing Your iOS App: Renewals and Ownership Transfers

This document explains how to renew your Apple Developer Program agreements and transfer ownership of your iOS mobile app to another Apple Developer account, ensuring your app remains active and compliant on the App Store.

This guide will walk you through the entire process of transferring an app and renewing Apple agreements in simple, easy-to-follow steps. 

Prepare for the App Transfer 

Requirements for the Outgoing Owner 

  • Must have an active Apple Developer Program membership 
  • Must have Free & Paid App Agreements active 

⚠️ The app cannot be transferred if any agreements have expired 

Requirements for the Incoming Owner 

  • Must have an active Apple Developer Account 
  • Must be able to accept the transfer using their own Apple ID 
  • Must not have an existing app with the same name as the incoming app 

Renew Apple Agreements (Outgoing Owner) 

Before starting the transfer, make sure all your Apple agreements are up to date: 

Sign In 

  • Sign in using the Apple ID linked to your Apple Developer Account 

Open Agreements, Tax, and Banking 

  • On the main dashboard, click Agreements, Tax, and Banking 

Review the Banner Notice 

  • If new agreements are available, you’ll see an “Action Required” banner at the top 
  • Click View and Agree (or Renew, if applicable) 

Accept the Terms 

  • Read Apple’s updated terms carefully 
  • Tick the checkbox to confirm you agree 

Submit 

  • Click Submit to finalize and save your acceptance 

Note: This must be done by the Account Holder or someone with legal authority on the account. You won’t be able to transfer or update apps until this is completed. 

Transfer the App (Outgoing Owner) 

Once agreements are active and valid, you can initiate the transfer: 

  • Sign in using your Apple Developer Account 
  • From the home screen, select Apps 
  • Choose the app you want to transfer 
  • From the left menu, go to General → App Information 
  • Scroll down and click Transfer App 
  • Enter the Apple ID and details of the incoming owner 
  • Click Submit to send the transfer request 

Accept the App Transfer (Incoming Owner) 

Once the outgoing owner sends the transfer request: 

  • Check your email for the transfer request from Apple 
  • Sign in using your Apple Developer Account 
  • Go to Agreements → Transfer Agreements 
  • Review and accept the incoming app transfer 

Important Notes 

  • Apple will block the transfer if: 
  • Any agreements that have expired or are unpaid 
  • The incoming owner has an existing app with the same name 
  • Apple manages and controls the transfer process — Deliverit can guide you, but cannot approve, reject, or monitor your Apple Developer accounts. 
  • Deliverit does not have access to your Apple ID credentials, passwords, or verification codes.
