If your business is planning to launch an iOS mobile app, you’ll need to set up an Apple Developer Account under your company name. This guide walks you through the full process from creating your Apple ID to enrolling in the Apple Developer Program
To publish an iOS app under your business name, you must create an Apple Developer Account under your company. Follow these steps carefully.
⚠️ Important: This process must be completed by the business owner or someone legally authorized to act on behalf of your company.
Apply for a D-U-N-S Number
A D-U-N-S Number is a unique identifier required by Apple to verify your company.
Create an Apple ID
This Apple ID will be used to manage your developer account.
Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Apple requires 2FA for all developer accounts.
Enrol in the Apple Developer Program
You must enrol as a Business / Organization to publish apps under your company name.
Add Deliverit as an Admin
Once your account is active, give Deliverit access to manage your app submission.
Notify Deliverit Installations Department
📌 Note: Apple may request extra verification documents (like ID or company papers). They will email instructions if needed.
📌 After your app is published, Apple may ask you to log in and accept new agreements. Deliverit cannot do this, but they will notify you when approvals are required.

Apply for a D-U-N-S Number
A D-U-N-S Number is a unique identifier required by Apple to verify your company.
- To verify your existing DUNs, visit DUNs Checker
- To register your DUNs, visit Apple Developer
- Enter your business details as requested.
- If prompted, allow Apple to apply for a D-U-N-S number on your behalf.
- ✅ Select “Company” (not Individual) as your organization type.
- Wait for your confirmation email. (This may take up to 7 working days.)
Create an Apple ID
You’ll use this Apple ID to manage your developer account.
- Go to developer.apple.com.
- Click Account (top right).
- Select Create Apple ID and complete the form with your details.
- Check your inbox for a verification code from Apple and enter it to confirm your email.
Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Apple requires 2FA for all developer accounts. You’ll need an iPhone or Mac.
On iPhone (iOS 10.3 or later):
- Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Password & Security
- Tap Turn on Two-Factor Authentication and follow the steps
On Mac:
- Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > iCloud > Account Details
- Click Security, then Turn on Two-Factor Authentication
Enrol in the Apple Developer Program
You must enrol your Apple ID as a business (organization) to publish your app under your company name.
Before you start, make sure you have:
- Your Apple ID with 2FA enabled
- Your company’s D-U-N-S Number
- A domain-based email (e.g. yourname@yourcompany.com)
- Legal authority to act for your business
To enrol:
- Go to developer.apple.com.
- Click Account (top right) and sign in with your Apple ID.
- Click Join the Apple Developer Program.
- Click Enrol to begin.
- When asked for your account type, select Organization (not Individual).
- Enter your legal business information and domain-based email.
- A verification code will be sent to your email.
- Read and accept the Apple Developer Agreement.
- Pay the annual $150 AUD membership fee directly to Apple.
- ✅ Select Auto-Renew to avoid future interruptions.
- Wait for Apple’s confirmation email. (Usually within 24 hours.)
Add Deliverit as an Admin
Once your developer account is active, give Deliverit access so we can manage your app submission.
- Go to App Store Connect.
- Log in using your Apple ID.
- Go to Users and Access.
- Click the ➕ (Add) button.
- Enter the following details:
- First Name: Tim
- Last Name: Ellis
- Apple ID: iosdev@deliverit.com.au
- Assign the following:
- ✅ Role: Admin
- ✅ Access: Developer Resources
- Click Invite.
Notify Deliverit
Once all steps are complete, email Deliverit (installs@deliverit.com.au) to let us know your account is ready. We can then start building your app.
Note:
Apple may request additional verification documents (like ID or company papers). If they do, they will send instructions to your email.
After your app is published, Apple may occasionally ask you to log in and accept updated agreements. Deliverit cannot do this for you, but we’ll notify you when it’s needed.
