How to Use Customer SMS Notifications on DPOS

SMS notifications help you keep customers informed about their orders in real-time. This guide will walk you through how to send these messages manually and how to customise the message content to suit your store.

 

How to Use Customer SMS Notifications on DPOS

customer SMS notifications allow you in real-time to update your customers about their order status- whether it's for in-store shopping, pickup, or delivery. 

To send an SMS notification:
✅ Log in to the DPOS application with admin credentials
✅ Go to Order Search
✅ Use filters to find the correct order (Shop, Pickup, or Delivery)
✅ Highlight the order
✅ Click Notify Customer OR go to Details > Notify

To Customize SMS messages:
✅ Go to Maintenance > Global Settings
✅ Search for SMS
✅ Double-click the order type you want to customize (Shop, Pickup, Delivery)
✅ Edit the message in the Value field
✅ Click Save to apply your changes

Sending an SMS Notification: 

Log in to the DPOS Application 

Open the DPOS application and enter your admin credentials.

Go to Order Search 

Navigate to the Order Search section from the main menu.

Search for the Order 

Use the search filters to locate the order you want to notify the customer about (Shop, Pickup, or Delivery).

Highlight the Order 

Click to highlight the specific order you wish to notify.

Notify the Customer 

In the upper-right corner of the screen, click the Notify Customer button.

Detail Button 

You can also notify the customer by going to the details button and clicking the notify button.

A message will be sent based on the order type (see how to customise it below). 

Customizing SMS Messages: 

Navigate to Settings 

From the main menu, go to Maintenance

Then select Settings

Search for SMS Message Fields 

In the search bar, type: SMS

Edit Message Values 

You can customise the message for the following order types: 

  •  Shop 
  • Pickup 
  • Delivery 

In the Value field next to each, enter your desired message. 

(Example: “Your order is ready for pickup at [Store Name]. Thanks for shopping with us!”)

Save Your Changes 

Click the Save button to apply the new messages.
