How to Purge Old Data on DPOS.

These instructions will guide you through purging old data from the DPOS system. 

Purging Old Data in Your Store Using DPOS
This guide helps you clear outdated data from your store using DPOS. Stores can use this when managing storage space, improving system performance, or removing inactive records.

How to Purge Old Data

Log into DPOS:
Sign in with your username and password.

Access Utilities:
Go to the Utilities section from the main menu.

Select Purge Option:
Click on Purge to begin the data removal process.

Set a Date Range:
Choose a cutoff date—all data before this date will be deleted.

Choose Data to Purge:
Select the specific data you want to remove:

  • Orders to Date (most commonly used)
  • Cancelled Orders to Date
  • Clockings to Date
  • Customers Not Active
  • Stock Transactions to Date

Confirm and Proceed:
A message will appear confirming the deletion details. Click OK to finalize the purge.

Restart DPOS:
Restart the server and workstations to apply the changes.

Steps to Purge Old Data:

     Login on DPOS:

Enter your credentials to log in to the DPOS system.

     Navigate to Utilities:

Once logged in, go to the Utilities section.

     Select Purge:

Choose the Purge option from the menu.

     Select the Date:

Set the date before which you want to purge data. This will remove all data up until the selected date.

For example, if you select 1st of November 2024, all data before this chosen date will be purged from DPos.

Note: If the purge range spans multiple years, it is advisable to carry out the purging in batches of 12 months. 

     Choose the Data to Purge:

Select the specific data you want to purge:  

            - Orders to Date(Most commonly used function)

            - Cancelled Orders to Date

            - Clocking's to Date

            - Customers Not Active

            - Stock Transactions to Date
 

     Confirm the Purge:

After selecting the data, a message will appear stating that it will remove the selected data up until the set date.

Click OK to confirm and proceed with the purge. 

Restart the Dpos Application on the server and the workstations.
