This guide helps you analyze sales performance across different time frames in your store using DPOS. Stores can use this to identify peak sales hours, monitor staff performance, and optimize operations based on order trends.

How to Generate a Time vs. Sales Analysis Report

Log into DPOS:
Sign in with your username and password.

Access Reports:
From the main menu, navigate to the Reports section.

Select Time Analysis Report:
Click on Time Analysis to open the report settings.

Set Filters:

  • Date Range: Choose the start and end dates for analysis.
  • Selected Day: Pick a specific day or leave blank for all days.
  • Time Range: Define the time period for the report.
  • Optional Hourly Summary: Check this box if you need an hourly breakdown.
  • Taken By: Choose a specific staff member or leave blank for all staff.
  • Transaction Type: Select a transaction type or leave blank for all transactions.

Run and View Report:
Click Preview to generate the report.

  • Displays order quantities and total sales values per time frame.
  • Helps identify peak hours and high-value sales periods.

Save or Print Report:

  • Click Print (top right) for a physical copy.
  • Select Save-to-File to store a digital version.

Steps to Generate a Time Analysis Report:
 

Log In to DPos: 

Open the DPos application on your computer. 

Click the "Log In" button to access the system. 

Enter your username and password in the login fields

Navigate to the Reports Section: 

Once logged in, you will see the main screen of the DPos application. 

Look for the “Reports” section, which is located in the toolbar.

Select Time Analysis: 

In the Reports section, find and click on the “Time Analysis” option. 

This will open the Time Analysis report page.

Adjust Filters: 

On the Time Analysis report page, you will see several filter options. 

Set the filters according to your needs:

Date Range: Select the start and end dates for the report.

Selected Day: Choose a specific day if needed or leave it blank to show all days.

Time Range: Define the time range for the report and, if needed, check the Optional Hourly Summary box.

Taken By: Select a specific staff member or leave blank to show all staff.

Transaction Type: Select a specific transaction type or leave it blank to show all transactions.

Run Report: 

After setting the filters, a screen will display the time frames and the number of orders received during each time frame. 

Click on the preview report and the data will be displayed.

View Order quantities based on time frame:

This will help you identify the time frames with the highest number of orders placed.

This will help you identify the time frames with the highest value of orders placed ($).

Save/Print Report: 

If you want a physical copy of the report, click the “Print” option at the top right of the screen. 

To save a digital copy, use the “Save-to-File” option available on the previous screen. This allows you to store the report on your computer. 

Note: By default, the report shows 15-minute intervals. You can adjust this to hourly intervals by selecting Summarise by hour on the filter options.
