Creating a New Discount Button in DPos
This guide helps you create and assign a new discount button in your store using DPOS.
Step 1: Creating a Discount PLU
Log in to DPos:
Use your credentials to access the DPos system.
Access Order Items:
Go to the Maintenance section and click on Order Items.
Create a New PLU:
Click the New button in the upper right corner.
Fill in the Discount PLU Details:
- PLU Code: Enter a code like "DISC01." If it's in use, try "DISC02", "DISC03", etc.
- Description: Add a description such as "$5 OFF".
- Value: Enter the discount amount with a negative sign (e.g., Delivery: -5, Shop/Pickup: -5, Table: -5).
- Category and Subcategory: Set both to Other.
- Use Percent: Tick this checkbox if the discount is a percentage.
Click Save at the bottom right corner to finalize the new PLU.
Step 2: Assigning the Discount Button
Access Touchscreen Maintenance:
Go back to the Maintenance section and click on Touchscreen Maintenance.
Select a Button Slot:
Click on an empty button slot (a box with a number) on the left side of the screen.
Assign the Discount PLU:
Use PLU Search to find and select the discount PLU you created.
Customize the Button:
Choose a colour for the button from the Colour box on the right side of the screen.
Save and Test the Button:
- Click Commit to apply changes.
- The discount button will now appear in the selected box.
- Click Save at the bottom right.
- Test the new discount button in the ordering page to ensure it works correctly.

Create a New PLU
In the Order Items section, click the "New" button in the upper right corner.

Fill in the details for your discount PLU at the bottom of the screen:

Category and Subcategory: Set both to "Other".

Click "Save" at the bottom right corner to save the new PLU.

Access Touchscreen Maintenance
Go back to the "Maintenance" section in Dpos.
Under Maintenance, click on the "Touchscreen Maintenance" button.
Select the Desired Button
Click on an empty box on the left side of the screen (a box with a number).
Use "PLU search" to find and select the desired PLU created.
Choose a colour for the button from the "Colour" box on the right side of the screen.
Save and Test the Button
Click "Commit" next to the selected colour.
The discount button will appear in the previously selected empty box.
Click "Save" at the bottom right of the screen.
Test the new discount button on your ordering page to ensure it works correctly.
