How to Allocate a Driver to a Delivery.

Allocating the right driver to each delivery can streamline your operations and enhance your delivery process. Follow these steps to allocate a driver to a delivery in your DPOS system.

How to Allocate a Driver to a Delivery in Your Store Using DPOS

This guide will help you efficiently assign drivers to delivery orders in your store using DPOS. Stores can use this feature to ensure timely deliveries and track driver assignments, improving order management and customer service.

Method 1: Allocating a Driver via the Orders Page

  1. Log into DPOS:
    Enter your username and password to access the system.
  2. Go to the Orders Page:
    • Navigate to the main menu and select Orders.
    • Click the Driver button to view all delivery orders ready for allocation.
  3. Assign a Driver to an Order:
    • A list of available drivers will appear.
    • Select the driver you want to assign.
    • Choose the specific order from the list.
    • Confirm your selection to allocate the driver.

Method 2: Using the Allocate Driver Button

  1. Find the Allocate Driver Option:
    • On the main screen, locate and click Allocate Driver.
  2. Assign the Order:
    • Select the driver from the dropdown list.
    • Choose the delivery order that needs to be assigned.
    • Click Allocate Driver or press F9 to confirm.

Using these methods, your store can efficiently manage delivery assignments, ensuring orders are sent out quickly and accurately with the right drivers.


Sign in to the DPOS Application.
 

Enter your username and password to log in to the system.

Note: Ensure that the delivery transaction is recorded in DPOS before proceeding with driver allocation.

The first Method is via the Orders Page:

Navigate to the main menu and select the "Orders" Page.

Click the Driver Button 

In the Orders Page, locate and click the "Driver" button. 
The page will show all saved deliveries that are ready for allocation.

Select the Driver 

A list of available drivers will appear. Choose the driver you want to allocate to the order.

Select the Order 

From the list of orders, select the specific order you want to assign to the driver.

Allocate the Driver 

After you confirm your selection allocate the driver to the chosen order.

Note: If your store has SMS functionality enabled, you can send a notification to customers informing them that their delivery has been dispatched. If you wish to enable this function please email support@deliverit.com.au

Note: To allocate multiple orders, hold down the Ctrl key while selecting them. 

 

The Second Method is via the Allocate Driver button on the Main Screen. 

Find and click on the "Allocate Driver" option on the main screen.

Choose the driver you want to allocate to the order in the dropdown box. Then, select the specific order.

Allocate the Driver. 

 click "Allocate Driver" or press the F9 button.

Note: The allocation screen is colour coded to easily check the due times of each delivery.

  • Red: 10 minutes before due time or overdue
  • Orange: 20 minutes before due time
  • Green: Recently saved order

The names of staff that appear in the dropdown can be set up to include all staff, clocked-in staff online, or clocked-in driver profile staff online. For assistance with changes, please email support@deliverit.com.au

 

Reallocating the driver to the delivery

Go back to the main page and select the Change Driver

Click on "Change Driver" to proceed to the next step.

Select the driver

Click on the driver's name or profile to select them.

Find the order I.D.

After selecting the driver, you will need to locate the order that needs to be reallocated.

Filter by date

Select the date range that corresponds to the order you are looking for

Click the reallocate button.

Click on "Reallocate" to assign the order to the selected driver.

A prompt will appear, saying that the order has been updated or reallocated.
