Adding a surcharge to your DPos Eftpos / Card payments is a straightforward process. Follow these easy steps to make the necessary adjustments.
Adding a Surcharge to DPOS Payment Types (Card)
This guide helps you add a surcharge to card payments in DPOS. The surcharge can be a fixed amount or a percentage, depending on your store’s policy.
Access DPOS:
Log in to the DPos application on your device.Create a Surcharge PLU:
Go to "Maintenance" from the main menu.Select "Order Items" and create a new PLU for the surcharge.
Click "New" and fill in the required fields:
Enter a unique PLU code for the surcharge.
Set the surcharge as either a fixed amount or a percentage of the transaction.
Save the changes.
Link the Surcharge to Payment Types:
Return to the "Maintenance" section.Select "Payment Types".
Choose the card payment type (e.g., EFTPOS).
Click "Edit".
Add the surcharge PLU to the payment type:
Separate it with a comma for Pickup, Shop, Delivery, and Table transactions.
Click "Save".
This ensures that the surcharge is automatically applied to card payments in your store using DPOS.
Access DPos:
Open the DPos application on your device.
Note: Before making any changes, ensure you back up your current settings.
Backup:
Go to Utilities and select the Backup/Restore button.
Navigate to Maintenance:
Go to the 'Maintenance' section within the DPos application.
Go to the Order Items section
Go to the Order Item and create a PLU (unique code) for the surcharge.
Click the New button.
Click the New Button and fill in the required fields, including a unique code (PLU) for the surcharge.
Specify Amount or Percentage:
Decide whether the surcharge will be a fixed amount or a percentage of the transaction.
Note: Tick the Use Percent if the surcharge is by percentage.
Save Changes:
When done, save the changes you have made.
Return to Maintenance:
Go back to the 'Maintenance' section and click the Payment Type.
Configure Payment Types:
Navigate to 'Payment Types' select the card payment type (in this example it will be Eftpos) and click the Edit button.
Add the unique code (PLU) created earlier and separate with a comma for Pickup, Shop, Delivery and Table transactions.
Once done, click Save.
Restart DPos:
Restart the DPos application to ensure all changes take effect.
