Adding a new item (PLU code) to your DPOS system ensures your menu stays up to date and accurate. Follow these simple steps to create a new item.
Note:

If you’re using a version lower than 02.20.41, please follow the steps below.
How to Add a New Item (PLU Code) to DPOS
✅ Log in to DPOS
✅ Create a backup (via Utilities > Backup/Restore)
✅ Ensure subcategories are already set up
✅ Go to Maintenance > Order Items
✅ Click Add New and complete the item details
✅ Use Tab to auto-fill price fields after entering the first
✅ Assign the correct Category and Subcategory
✅ Tick the Active checkbox
✅ Click Save to apply the changes
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to DPOS
Use your credentials to access the DPOS system.
Create a Backup
Navigate to the Utilities section.
Select Backup to ensure you have a copy of your current data before making changes.
Ensure Sub-categories are Set Up
Before adding a new item, make sure the appropriate Sub-category already exists in the system. If not, follow this link. How to Add New Categories/Subcategories on DPOS.
Open the Order Items Screen
From the maintenance tab menu, go to Order Items.
Add a New Item
Click the Add New button to start creating a new item and fill in the required fields.
Tip:
When setting prices, you can enter the first price, then press the Tab key to automatically fill the second and third price fields.
Configure Item Details
- Assign the correct Category and Subcategory.

- Fill in other required fields such as Item Description and Prices.

Activate the Item
Make sure the Active box is ticked to ensure the item will appear live on the system.
Save Your Changes
Click Save to complete the setup.
