How to Add a New Categories/Subcategories on DPOS.

Adding New Categories and Subcategories to Your Store Using DPOS
This guide helps you create new categories and subcategories in your store using DPOS. Stores can use this when expanding their menu, organizing products, or adding new sections for better order management.

How to Add a New Category/Subcategory

Log into DPOS:
Sign in with your username and password.

Access Maintenance:
From the main menu, go to the Maintenance section.

Create a New Category:

  • Click on Order Item Categories.
  • Click the New button and enter the Category Description.
  • Click Save to confirm.

Link to a Subcategory:

  • Click YES when prompted to link the category to a subcategory.
  • Navigate to Order Item Subcategories.
  • Scroll down to find the newly added menu category.

This guide ensures your store can effectively manage and expand its product or menu categories using DPOS.

Log in to DPOS using your credentials. 

Enter your username and password to access the system.

Note:

Before making any changes, create a backup: 

Go to Utilities

Select the Backup/Restore button. 

Click Backup.

 

Go to Maintenance. 

Navigate to the "Maintenance" section from the main menu.

Click on Order Item Categories. 

Select "Order Item Categories" from the options available.

Add a new category. 

Click the "New" button and enter a Category Description.

Then, hit the "Save" button.

Click "YES" to link it to the Subcategory Description.

View the subcategory. 

Go to "Order Item Subcategories." 

Scroll down to view the newly added menu category.
