Sometimes your payment terminal may stop functioning correctly due to hardware damage, network issues, or tampering. Knowing the common signs of a faulty terminal will help you quickly identify when it needs to be replaced.
Signs Your Terminal May Be Faulty
A terminal should be considered faulty if you experience one or more of the following issues:
- Keypad or touchscreen problems – buttons or screen do not respond properly.
- Fall-back to 4G network not working – for terminals that support switching from Wi-Fi to 4G.
- Screen malfunction – the screen displays only a bright white light with no actions visible.
- Tampered message – the terminal consistently shows a “Tampered” error.
What to Do if Your Terminal is Faulty
- Document the issue you are experiencing (e.g., screen, keypad, or network problem).
- Contact your Account Manager, or POS Support team and report the issue.
- The team will:
- Raise a quotation for replacement.
- Confirm whether the fault is covered under your warranty.
- The Terminal Facility Team will then take over and guide you through the next steps.
By following these steps, you will be able to identify a faulty terminal and ensure it is replaced quickly. If you require further assistance, please contact your Account Manager, or POS Support Team.
