🏷️ How to Apply a Percentage Discount Using a Promo Code
Offering discounts through promo codes is a great way to drive customer engagement and reward loyalty. This guide walks you through setting up a 50% item discount (or any percentage) in Studio, applied directly through a menu selection using a promo code.
✅ Log In to Studio
- Open the Studio application.
- Enter your credentials to access the dashboard.
✅ Go to Menu Manager
- From the main menu, navigate to Menu Manager.
- Click on the Deals section.
✅ Create a New Promo Code Deal
- Click the ➕ Plus icon to create a new deal.
- Fill in the required details:
- Item Category
- Item Subcategory
- Display Name
- PLU (Product Lookup Code)
- Print Name
- Description
- Click Finish once completed.
- Click the Rocket icon, then hit Deploy to publish your changes.
✅ Configure the Deal Selection
- Click the deal you just created.
- Set the selection type:
- Name – Give your deal a unique name.
- Single Item – For one specific item.
- By Menu Category – For discounts across a category.
- Click Save.
✅ Edit the Promo Code Deal
- Locate the promo code deal and click on it again.
- Under Deal Selection, click the gear icon to open settings.
✅ Set Discount Details
- In the settings:
- Enter 50% (or any percentage) under Discount Percent.
- Tick the Charge Item checkbox to apply the discount properly.
- Click Save to finalize everything.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log In to Studio
Open the Studio application.
Enter your login credentials and access the dashboard.
Go to Menu Manager
From the main menu, navigate to Menu Manager.
Select the Deals section.
Create a New Deal Promocode
Click the ➕ Plus icon to create a new deal.
Fill in the required fields:
- Item Category
- Item Subcategory
- Display Name
- PLU (Product Lookup Code)
- Print Name
- Description
Once completed, click Finish.
Go to the Rocket Icon and hit the Deploy button.
Once the deployment is complete, refresh your browser and search for the deal code
Configure Deal Selection
Click on the created Deal.
Choose the deal type:
- Name – Assign a unique name to the deal.
- Single Item – Choose this option as this is the type used for a deal
Click Save.
Edit the Created Promocode Deal
After saving, locate the promocode deal you just created and click on it.
Under Deal Selection, click the settings (gear) icon.
Set Discount Details
Under Discount Percent, enter 50% or your preferred discount rate.
Tick the Charge Item checkbox to apply the discount correctly.
Click Save to confirm all settings.
